My Top 3 Weight Loss/Management Tips

#TransformationTuesday:

In this post, I want to feature this awesome, busy, corporate professional, 42 year old mama of twins.

MC started with me at 118lbs at 5’2. She says her weight rarely changes but wanted to focus more on trimming her waist line and reduce belly bloating.

In 13 weeks, she lost 12lbs and is down to 106lb, 9.5 inches, and 6% BF. How she lost that much weight still blows my mind!

This was my initial advice and she followed:

Lemon water upon rising, start strength training and yoga, and better portion control

When I start with any new client, I make sure their mindset is in it for the long haul, not a quick temporary beach body fix. IT IS NOT THE LAST SUPPER! Yes, I customize meal plans and will take your goals into consideration as I know they are VERY important, but changing your lifestyle in one shot is not realistic and can be overwhelming.

The top 3 things I generally recommend to start are:
1️⃣ drink a glass of lemon water in the morning. Helps reduce bloating, cleanse your largest, most powerful organ, the liver, stimulate digestion, metabolism, balance ph, and provide fibre and vitamin C, among other things ?
2️⃣ reduce (or eliminate) processed and refined sugars. Ie, simple carbs like whites, junk food, pastries, candy etc. Refined sugar is toxic to the body and immediately suppresses your immune system. It spikes your insulin levels and can cause unwanted cravings, leading to further weight gain. Look for any “added sugars” in food labels that aren’t naturally from fruits or whole grains. It’s not to say you need to completely eliminate it forever, but portion control and moderation is key. ?
3️⃣ start strength training. Whether it’s weight lifting, yoga, or intervals. This will build strength, body awareness, increase muscle mass, speed up your body’s metabolism, it’s ability to burn food for fuel, and improve posture and breathing – when done correctly! ??

Aim for small changes, noting how it makes us feel along the way and educating ourselves on how and why our bodies require certain things. You get what you give. Eat garbage, become garbage. Give half-assed effort, achieve half-assed results or WORSE!
Eat real foods and supplement when necessary.
Diets are a lifestyle and individualized. They keep evolving and changing because our bodies change ALL THE TIME. We experience cellular changes by the second. ?
