Homemade Turkey Balls

Are you bored of the standard white fish and chicken to get your protein? Aside from increasing your consumption of non animal proteins such as dark leafy greens, nuts and legumes, lean ground turkey is another option you can get creative with! Here’s a recipe I’ve shared with my clients and it’s gotten some amazing feedback! It’s also a great way to increase your vegetable intake by “hiding” them in these turkey balls – AND it’s gluten and dairy free – if that’s what you’re into šŸ˜‰

Makes 12 balls

You`ll need:

  • 2 lbs of lean ground turkey
  • 4 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • salt optional – 0.5 tsp
  • 1/4 cup basil
  • 1/3 cup of finely chopped celery
  • spicy option: add 1/8 cup of chili flakesĀ for an extra kick in your balls (har har)
  • you can also chop up more vegetables such as zucchini and carrots. As I always say – GO NUTS WITH THE VEGGIES

What to do:

  • mix everything in a large bowl, shape them into balls with your hands, bake in the oven at 375F for 15 mins, flip and bake for another 10-15 mins.
  • cut 1 or 2 in half to make sure the insides are done
